Snow

Hello family and friends, this week was pretty uneventful, as usual. A lot of tracting and facebook finding, with limited success rates. On Tuesday night/Wednesday it snowed! It snowed all day Wednesday so we weren't allowed to use the car until 1pm and we had to be in by 6pm even though it had pretty much all melted off the roads. So we had an exchange and we spent Thursday knocking doors. Saturday we went to a members for lunch and I grilled some chicken. Not to sound to cocky but I made a marinade out of what they had in the fridge and some vinegar and it was dang good.........We've been trying to get into more members homes so we've been calling and setting up appointments with members a lot too. Sunday we found a new investigator so we'll see where that goes. But I'm super HYPED for general conference I can't wait! So all of you better be watching it too!
Thats about if for this week.

Thought: Ephesians 6:11 "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" take the breastplate of Righteousness, the shield of faith, and the sword of the spirit and the "wiles of the devil" wont have influence over you"

Good Week

This week was a good week. We actually found 3 new investigators for the first time in about 4 weeks! So that was awesome. We had exchanges with the zone leaders on Wednesday and thats when we found 2 new investigators and then the next day Elder Windmiller and I were visiting a member and got distracted by a new 2018 mustang gt, but while we were getting distracted we noticed an old former who lived by there so we went to pay him a visit and he let us in and we talked about the BOM and left him a copy and set up a time to come back.
Saturday we were supposed to have an all mission conference and Bishop Wadell was supposed to be there, but his flight was cancelled and he ended up not being able to make it, It was a bummer, but we went ahead and had the conference anyway. It ended up being an awesome conference and we had a panel of bishops and stake presidents and discussed how we can work more effectivley with the ward members and ward council, I learned a lot of really great things I'm excited about. I also got to see all of my friends from the mission, some of the spanish elders that I lived with a few months back, it was awesome. Thats it for this week.

Thought Galatians: All of the chapters, these are AWESOME, talking about how we are saved by the grace of Jesus Christ and not adherence to the law, also the context of these chapters is important, at this time, Jewish Christians were preaching to Gentile converts that they had to obey the law of moses, and Paul corrects this erroneous doctrine.

Zone Conference

Hey Fam, Wednesday was zone conference and we talked about attitude. President gave a fiery speech about attitude and how it affects literally every aspect of the work. After that we talked about planning with faith, it was really awesome and I learned a lot about faith. One of my favorite scriptures is Ether 12:4, it talks about faith and how if we have faith and hope it will make an anchor to our souls to keep us in good works.

Also I have given a talk in sacrament meeting 2 out of the last 3 sundays so thats neat.

Geese and Service

Nothing happened this week in the way of missionary work in our area. We met 3 really awesome people, 2 over facebook and 1 while tracting. Sadly they all live not in our area. The guy we met tracting was named Aaron. He was working on a house and he was super nice and he said he'd read the BoM in a week. butttt he lives in Richmond.
In other news there's this pond right ourside our apartment and this flock of geese comes here every day without fail at like 9 am, so we started to feed them. Needless to say they are our new best friends and we feed them every day before we leave. We've slowly been building trust with them in hopes to one day get them into our apartment and maybe play some games of catan or scrabble with them. Thats about as exciting as it gets here in Virginia. Oh, we did some service on Saturday, we helped one of the priest build dog houses for a local shelter. they were nice dog houses too. Elder Windmiller and I built 5 whole dog houses and put shingles on the roof in the time it took this one poor ward member to build 3\4 of a doghouse. So shoutout to my Father dear who taught me how to not be incompetent at things pertaining to, well, just about everything. Oh also there was a massive windstorm, it knocked out a ton of peoples power I guess, except ours haha, we had some other missionaries sleep over with us cause they lost power in their apartment.

Thought this week, 1 Corinthians chapter 13, the whole thing, Charity never faileth. read it and try to apply it.

I definitly did NOT buy a ninja turtles ice cream from the ice cream man while tracting.......
